Data Deletion Instructions

Overview
BracketForge respects your right to control your personal data. If you signed up using a third-party service (such as Google, Apple, or Microsoft) or via email/password, you can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
How to Delete Your Account
- Sign in to your BracketForge account at bracketforge.app.
- Navigate to Settings from the top navigation menu.
- Click "Delete Account" and confirm the deletion when prompted.
What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed within 30 days:
- Profile information: Your name, email address, and profile photo.
- Authentication data: Sign-in credentials and session tokens (managed by Clerk).
- Bracket entries and picks: All bracket predictions you have submitted.
- Pool memberships: Your membership in all pools, including commissioner roles.
- Messages: Content you posted in pool message boards.
- Notification preferences: All email and in-app notification settings.
- Payment information: Payment handles (Venmo, CashApp, etc.) you provided. Note: Stripe subscription data is managed by Stripe and subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
Pool-level aggregate data (standings, audit logs) may be retained in anonymized form and cannot be used to identify you.
Revoking Third-Party Access
In addition to deleting your BracketForge account, you can revoke BracketForge's access from your third-party account:

If you are unable to sign in or need assistance, you can request data deletion by emailing general@bracketforge.app from the email address associated with your account. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.
Processing Timeline
Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days. During this period, your account will be deactivated immediately and your data will be queued for permanent removal. Some data may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).
